Being a dad means wearing a lot of hats—but let’s be real, it’s not always easy to juggle family, work, and self-care. In today’s episode, we dive into overcoming challenges as dads, breaking the cycle of excuses, and finding ways to follow through when starting something new feels easier than finishing it.
We also reflect on how fatherly communication has evolved—from “actions speak louder than words” to understanding the value of vulnerability. Sometimes, your kids need to see the human side of you (Clark Kent) instead of the hero (Superman).

This isn't the first episode as much as a coaching call that turned into a "what if" session.
We started off talking about how we combat "dad brain" (forgetting things and having a hard time recalling things), and scenarios we get ourselves into. Then we quickly found ourselves thinking about sharing our discussions with you.
Thus the creation of Dads in Real life.
We see a lot of "influencer" dads online that remind us that we need to work out and how to be head of the household, but we didn't find a lot of dads in our season of life (Travis with three kids under 5 and Robert with three kids over 5) sharing stories. So we decided to start recording our calls and all the various topics dads talk about. Plus being a decade apart in age we have different points of view and life experiences as well.
So here we are, two dads in real life (work-from-home dads), that talk weekly about topics that concern us in our season of life.
We Hope you can learn, laugh, and lounge with us as we chat about everything and nothing at all.
